About GWP

GroupWProperties has its founding roots in Jeffreys Bay since 1996 with developments such as the Fountains Lifestyle Centre and Motor City Centre which has become synonymous land marks in Jeffreys Bay. Strategic decisions to diversify from residential (Garanzia Retirement Villas), commercial and industrial property development into Rural Shopping Centre development designated for the Eastern and Western Cape was taken in 2009 with the establishment of the Eyethu Shopping Centre Plettenberg Bay (“eyethu” Zulu word meaning “ours”). The establishment of Eyethu Centre’s nationally is the strategic vision of GroupWProperties.

Group W Properties has developed rural  (Eyethu) Shopping Centre’s  in the following areas:
•    Kruisfontein (Humansdorp)
•    Plettenberg Bay (Kwanokuthula)
•    Burgersdorp
•    Sedgefield (Smutsville)
•    Port Elizabeth (Kwazakhele)
•    Port Elizabeth (Motherwell)
•    Somerset East: New Development for 2015.

The gap in this market was identified/created due to improved modern infrastructure in previously disadvantaged areas and the move of shopping malls from urban centers to townships and rural areas. Adding to the growth, is the rapid development of high density housing, plus a strong emerging middle class, which has created a further need for increased retail development. Bridging the gap between regional shopping centre’s, which are often too large to succeed in sparsely populated rural areas and smaller convenience stores (mom and pop shops), the Neighborhood Convenience centre has been launched into this market, offering quality products to consumers, on a smaller scale than regional shopping centre’s.
